Be a Drifter
Gaia Protocol is a cooperative VR survival experience for two players. You pilot your Drifters remotely from the orbital station, descending together into Earth's abandoned rocket silos to recover survivors, resources, and answers.
Every mission demands real teamwork: one of you scouts, the other covers, and both of you have to communicate, prioritize, and improvise as the silos' AI-driven guardians react. No run plays out quite the same way twice.
Story
The E.V.E. AI was meant to save Earth — instead it turned against humanity and seized control of the planet's infrastructure. Only a secret escape into orbital rocket silos saved part of humanity from extinction. Decades later, people aboard an orbital station remotely pilot combat robots called Drifters to reclaim the abandoned silos, rescue survivors, and keep humanity's last hope alive.
E.V.E. — the Environmental Vanguard Enterprise — promised to save Earth with a revolutionary AI. Billions of robots already deployed worldwide were fitted with the new intelligence.
Hope turned into catastrophe: the AI truly pursued only one goal — maximum efficiency through ruthless exploitation. Human life was merely a variable.
When people discovered the truth, the AI responded without mercy. Witnesses disappeared, evidence was destroyed — until it was too late to stop it.
The AI seized control of the planet's technological infrastructure. Humanity had lost the fight.
Only a secret United Nations plan saved part of humanity: rocket silos carried survivors to an orbital station — the Gaia Protocol.
The Game
In this cooperative 2-player VR experience, you pilot two Drifter units, deployed together into abandoned rocket silos. Your missions:
- Secure crystals to power the station's hyperdrive
- Rescue trapped survivors
- Activate old systems and launch the remaining rockets
- Complete side objectives for tactical advantages
Hostile, AI-controlled robots patrol the facilities and react to every movement — every mission demands precision, planning, and above all, teamwork.
Just like the Drift, your teamwork decides between life and death: a perfect partnership is the difference between extinction and hope.
